Strawberry Festival expected to bring thousands to Chadbourn

CHADBOURN, NC (WECT) - Strawberry culture has been important in Chadbourn for more than a century, and this weekend they will host their annual Strawberry Festival.

The event is expected to bring in between 15,000 and 30,000 people, and will include carnival rides, food, and strawberries. WECT's Frances Weller is this year's parade grand marshal.

Organizers of the event say it is a way to bring the community together and to show off the Town of Chadbourn.

If you're in Chadbourn for the Strawberry Festival this weekend, you may want to make s top at the NASA Exploration Experience Exhibit.  It is an interactive exhibit that shows people what the future could be like, if we lived on other planets.

The exhibit is free to the public and will be in Chadbourn until Sunday morning.
