WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Several local restaurants are hoping the dinner rush will lead to a rush of help for dozens of wildfire victims.
Sticky Fingers Restaurants in the Wilmington and Myrtle Beach areas are donating 10 percent of their sales Wednesday to the victims of the wildfires in Horry county.
"It kind of got personal to us, because our operating partner of our North Myrtle Beach store was one of the ones displaced because of the fire," said Wilmington Sticky Fingers Manager Julie Cooper. "He was one of the lucky ones, but he definitely was without a home for a couple of days."
More than 100 homes were destroyed or damaged when fires rages through tens of thousands of acres.
The fires are under control, but now people are trying to put their lives back together.
