SHALLOTTE, NC (WECT) - Authorities are investigation a head-collision that killed a woman and injured three people Saturday night near Shallotte.
According to highway patrol, the wreck happened just before 9:00 Saturday night as Jerricka Blanton, of Supply headed south on Bricklanding road.
Officers say Blanton crossed the center line of the road and collided head-on with a Jeep about a mile south of Shallotte.
Blanton was traveling alone and wearing her seatbelt, when she died in the crash.
Officials say the driver of the Jeep, 41-year-old Esterlane Ballard of Shallotte may have her foot amputated Monday morning.
Passengers 11-year-old Tameshia Sapps has been released from the hospital, and 2-year-old Taylor Spells is still recovering.
