Wrightsville Beach Lifeguards help to rescue animals

Posted by Debra Worley - email

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WECT) - Wrightsville Beach lifeguards are known for their abilities to save human lives, and they will soon be known for saving animal lives as well.

This weekend lifeguards will reunite to help rescue abandoned or stray animals which may otherwise not be so lucky.

They will host a fundraiser event Saturday, April 25 from 1-5 PM at the Wrightsville Beach Museum.

Visitors will be able to review the history of the Wrightsville Beach lifeguards, and perhaps even adopt a lifetime friend.

Animals from the New Hanover County Animal Shelter will be available for rescue through the efforts of Adopt an Angel.  The group conducts weekly pet adopting fairs in various locations, in hopes to find homes for the abandoned animals.
