WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Wilmington Police Department has found a man who fled after being pulled over for speeding.

The driver gave the officer his license, and then left the scene where he proceeded to run a red light and crash into a Nissan Sentra on Castle and Fifth Streets.

Officers found the driver's car on 6th and Nun Streets, but the driver was gone.

Bertha Moses, the driver of the Sentra, said she's happy to be alive.

"I thank God I can say something today, even though they haven't caught the driver yet," said Moses.  "I thank God I have life, health and strength and right now I feel pretty good."

According to police, the driver has agreed to turn himself in, but he will face several felony charges including hit and run and eluding an officer.
