WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Hundreds of volunteers will join efforts this weekend to make a change for the better during Hands on Wilmington.

They will paint, organize, replace ceiling tiles, and make over dingy buildings.

Neesha Allen and the Leadership Wilmington Class of 2009 have the task of keeping 2,500 volunteers at 37 locations from turning into a zoo, but after months of planning, Allen said they're ready.

"In an economic time like this, we're helping out the non profits, we're putting money into the economy, and we're just helping one another," said Allen.
