WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Wilmington man once questioned in the murders of two women is in jail on unrelated weapons charge.
47-year-old Timothy Iannone was arrested for possession of a weapon by a felon, according to the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office.
Probation officers say they found the weapon during a random search Tuesday night. Iannone is on probation from a 2007 conviction of assault with a deadly weapon.
Wilmington police has questioned Iannone in regards to the murders of Allison Jackson Foy and Angela Nobles Rothens. Detectives recovered their bones last year in a wooded area off Carolina Beach Road.
Iannone has denied any involvement in their deaths, and recently appeared on an NBC Dateline Special to reiterate his innocence.
Iannone is be held under a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to be in court May 7.
