WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - UNCW will wrap up National Volunteer Week (April 18-25) with a clean sweep of Carolina Beach this weekend.
Students will meet UNCW Surfrider Club members at the Carolina Beach boardwalk pavilion, Saturday morning at 9:00.
Volunteers will be able to enjoy food, music, and a local art show during the sweep that is expected to wrap up by 1:00 PM.
Several activities will take place throughout the week to celebrate community service. One project includes collecting school supplies for Maiti Nepal, an organization created to combat the sex trafficking of women and children between Nepal and India.
The UNCW Volunteer Week is organized by the UNCW Center for Leadership Education Service, which facilitates community service opportunities for the campus.
