WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Sunday some dogs in Wilmington chased plastic bags for a cause.  Once a month the owner at Einstein K-9 Bakery in Wilmington opens her front yard to dogs and their owners.

For $5 dogs can run a 200 yard lure course, chasing a white plastic bag that's being moved with a pulley.

All the money raised goes toward helping rescued greyhounds.

"It's real encouraging to know that people can bring their dogs out," said Roy Mayo who rescues greyhounds. "The dogs can run, and they can raise money."

Sunday the event raised about $250.  The next lure course will be May 19th.
