PLEASURE ISLAND, NC (WECT) - Saturday hundreds of residents and visitors attended the island's annual chowder cook-off.
More than eight area restaurants cooked for votes to be crowned the "chowder king."
Music and dancing also help make this the largest fundraiser for the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce.
The money they raised will be returned to the community for fireworks and concerts on the boardwalk that begin Memorial Day and last through the end of summer.
The winner for the judges and peoples choice was Michael's Seafood and the golden grouper award for the best decorated tent went to Jack Mackeral's.
