WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A man surrendered to Wilmington Police officers on the roof of the City of Wilmington IT office Thursday night.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, an officer heard glass break at the office on Chestnut Street and saw 38-year-old Larry Darnell Miller inside the building.

The officer challenged Miller to come out, but instead retreated further in the building.

Additional officers arrived on the scene to assist with a perimeter and to guard the entry when Miller was spotted on the roof.

Officers found several mobile data terminals (WPD in-car computers) and several city cell phones in Darnell's backpack.

Darnell was arrested and charged with felony and breaking and entering and larceny.

In addition, Miller had outstanding warrants for first degree burglary and failure to appear.
