Man arrested for hitting several vehicles in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Authorities have arrested a man who hit several vehicles in Wilmington Wednesday evening.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, 30-year-old Travis Montgomery Rivenbark, was heading west on Wrightsville Avenue in a green Jeep after rear-ending a vehicle on the avenue.

A witness followed Rivenbark and told 911 dispatchers the Jeep sideswiped another vehicle waiting to exit the parking lot at 4605 Wrightsville Avenue.

Authorities say the Jeep left through the parking lot onto Maple Avenue where it struck a mailbox and then crashed into one more vehicle on McMillan Avenue.

Rivenbark had been previously convicted of three DWI in the past 10 years.  Now, he is facing charges of habitual DWI and felony hit and run.

Rivenbark is being held at New Hanover County Jail on a $20,000 secured bond.
