WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Some students at UNCW went through a boot camp Wednesday - this one geared towards job seeking skills.
UNCW's Career Services hosted a Job Search Boot Camp in efforts to equip students with the tools they need to succeed.
"We really created this program in response to the current economy and just how else we could help students during this difficult time," said career development counselor Sarah Clark.
Students were coached on vital job-seeking skills including resume building, cover letter construction, and job interviewing.
Professional career counselors were on hand to guide students through job searching and personal finance planning.
"It's important because students are having a harder time finding those entry level jobs - there just aren't as many of them out there," said Clark. "We really wanted to make sure to equip them with skills they need to go out and find a job when they graduate."
The unemployment of young bachelor's degree holders is expected to rise from 3.4 to 4.1 percent.
