BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Vulgar words are spray-painted on the side of a mobile home in Bladen County, but it's not the work of vandals - the man who lives in the home added the extras himself.
"Never in my life have I seen anything like this," said Karen Phillips, the man's sister.
Family members say the words on the personal billboard are directed at them, and Phillips is ashamed to see her name on the home.
"I'm not a crackhead," said Phillips. "It's embarrassing to go to church and like hide my head or something because of those things he's got marked on there for me."
Many neighbors and church members say they are especially embarrassed because their children play just a few hundred yards away.
"Whenever it fades out he'll make sure he gets a can of paint and darkens it back up, and he has a 4-year-old little boy that has to go through this too," said Phillips.
Residents and church members agree the graffiti needs to go and the children who live nearby should not be exposed to that kind of language.
The owner of the home Richard Bryant said he did it to get attention.
He said family members broke into his home and stole personal items and when he called law enforcement they didn't do anything about it.
