WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A Port City based coffee shop is closing one of locations in downtown Wilmington.
Port City Java has more than 40 cafes and coffeehouses in five states and three countries, but now they'll be one short as they shut down the store on Chestnut and Fourth Streets.
Company officials say they decision was made due to the bad economy and the location's expiring lease.
No employees will be laid off, and there are not current plans for any additional closings in Wilmington.
The company said they are trying to grow throughout the Carolinas and a new establishment is being planned in Leland.
