BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Severe weather rolled through the area Monday, and a tornado blew through at least one city in Brunswick County.

WECT viewer Donald Ward submitted some pictures of the damage in Longwood.  They who downed trees and damaged homes near his family's property in the area.

First Alert Meteorologist Robb Ellis passed the images along to the National Weather Service, who has confirmed the damage came from an EF-1 tornado with winds around 105 mph. 

Authorities say the twister was about the length of a football field wide and was on the ground about two miles.

Two homes suffered minor damage, a hog pen was destroyed and a lot of trees were snapped.

A total of 6 tornadoes have touched down within three different counties in a 10 day time frame.
