WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - There may be some good news for former members of Port City Health Club in Wilmington.
The state's Attorney General's office is working to help people who lost membership money when the club suddenly shut its doors Wednesday.
The gym had a bond of $250,000 with the state. That was money that was set aside in case it went out of business.
Depending on what ultimately happens to the facility, the state may be able to use that money to reimburse members.
Officials say the best thing for consumers to do is get in touch with them. You can call 1-877-5-NO SCAM (toll free) or log onto www.ncdoj.gov to download a consumer complaint form.
