WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Azalea Festival is officially in full bloom with the annual Garden Tour.

The Willetts' home on Windsor Drive was host to the first Azalea Garden Tour Friday morning.  There are 12 gardens included in the tour.  All of them are in New Hanover County.

Azalea Festival Queen Amrapali Ambegaokar had the honor of cutting the ribbon.

The lawn was filled with blossoms, Azalea Belles and spring-time entertainment.

This year's theme is "Something Old, Something New" with both yearly favorites and new, modern landscapes.

The tour runs April 3-5 from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Tickets are $20 each and can be bought at or at any of several Wilmington locations including Belk Customer Service Department in Independence Mall, A Proper Garden, Chandler's Wharf, The Transplanted Garden, and the New Hanover County Arboretum.

Proceeds go toward scholarships and conservation projects.
