WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A New Jersey-based Coast Guard cutter will dock in Wilmington during the 62nd North Carolina Azalea Festival.
The Cutter Dependable is scheduled to arrive Friday. The Dependable is a 210-foot Medium Endurance Cutter with 75 crewmembers.
Commanded by Cmdr. Laura M. Dickey, a native of Wilmington, it will dock on Water Street in downtown Wilmington near its sister ship, the Wilmington-based Cutter Diligence.
More than 400,000 people are expected to attend the Azalea Festival, which includes a parade, street fair, concerts and home and garden tours.
