Wilmington's Azalea Festival will have parking shuttles

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Wave Transit will provide express shuttles from Independence Mall to Downtown Wilmington to alleviate traffic congestion and ease parking during the Azalea Festival Parade.

Shuttles will operate for the parade Saturday, April 4 starting at 7:00 AM lasting until 1:00 PM The Parade begins at 9:00 in the morning.

Patrons can sit along the curbside for free or purchase a bleacher seat in advance. Seats cost $8 near the reviewing stand or $5 a ticket for general seating.

Those who want to take advantage of the shuttle can park at Indepence Mall for free in the overflow lot near the Wachovia Bank on the Sears side.

The shuttle will cost $1.50 each way per person, and children under the age of 5 can ride for free.

The shuttles will operate on 7 minute intervals Saturday, from 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
