BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WECT) - People against a planned international port near Southport will have a chance to voice their concerns at a public hearing Thursday night.
Officials with the North Carolina State Ports Authority are looking at building the port on the Cape Fear River in Southport.
Boiling Spring Lakes Town Manager David Lewis said many citizens in the area are concerned the port will cause traffic congestion.
Thursday night officials with State Ports Authority will meet with residents for a public forum at the Boiling Springs Lakes Community Center.
