KURE BEACH, NC (WECT) - There are three new design plans for a new Ocean Front Park in Kure Beach.

While the designs are only preliminary, officials say they give an idea of what the park could look like.

The ocean front park would include a stage and pavilion and would have direct access to the beach.

During a public meeting, it was agreed upon that the pavilion should be angled toward the beach like the drawing shows, that public restrooms should be provided in a separate structure, and that private restrooms should be in the pavilion for those taking part in special events.

Mayor Mac Montgomery said this will be a park for everyone, not just residents of Kure Beach.

"Things like this, for a small town, happen by everybody working together, and it wouldn't have happened without the partnerships we've had and so we value those," said Montgomery.  "This is everybody's park, not just Kure Beach's."

Montgomery said a design should be chosen within the next two months.
