LOWER CAPE FEAR RIVER FROM WILMINGTON SOUTHWARD...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON HAS ISSUED A COASTAL
FLOOD ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM EDT LATE THIS EVENING
UNTIL 2 AM EDT SUNDAY.

* LOCATION...AREAS BORDERING THE LOWER CAPE FEAR RIVER FROM
WILMINGTON SOUTHWARD.

* COASTAL FLOODING...THE TIDE GAUGE IN DOWNTOWN WILMINGTON IS
FORECAST TO REACH 5.75 FT MLLW. FLOODING BEGINS AT 5.5 FT MLLW.

* TIMING...THE HIGHEST WATER LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR IN A WINDOW
BETWEEN 1100 PM EDT LATE THIS EVENING AND 200 AM EDT EARLY SUNDAY
MORNING. PEAK FLOODING WILL OCCUR AROUND HIGH TIDE AT 1208 AM EDT
EARLY SUNDAY MORNING

* IMPACTS...UP TO 6 TO 9 INCHES OF WATER IS EXPECTED ON THE LOWEST
PORTIONS OF BATTLESHIP ROAD AND U.S.S. NORTH CAROLINA ROAD. UP TO
ONE-HALF FOOT OF WATER WILL COVER THE LOW LYING PORTIONS OF WATER
STREET...ESPECIALLY JUST SOUTH OF MARKET STREET. WATER WILL SPREAD
ONTO PORTIONS OF RIVER ROAD ABOUT A QUARTER MILE SOUTH OF CAPE
BOULEVARD.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY INDICATES THAT MINOR FLOODING WILL OCCUR
ALONG PORTIONS OF THE LOWER CAPE FEAR RIVER FROM WILMINGTON SOUTHWARD.
