CAROLINA BEACH -- Independence Day means celebrating freedom for most people, but for one man it usually means fighting a law he thinks is unfair, until this year.

For years, Chris Lutterloah has ridden his horse Mollie over the Snow's Cut Bridge on July 4. The rides were in protest of a Carolina Beach town ordinance that bans horses from the roads.

Lutterloah says he isn't protesting this year, because he is working with the town to get rid of that law.

On a side note, Mollie was killed back in April after Lutterloah says someone cut his fence and the horse wandered into the road.
