CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - The Carolina Panthers have picked Baylor wide receiver David Gettis in the sixth round of the NFL draft.
Gettis is a 6-foot-3, 217-pound receiver who had 52 catches for 675 yards and three touchdowns last season. The Panthers took Gettis with the 198th overall pick, which they acquired in a trade with the New York Jets earlier Saturday.
Carolina also spent third-round selections on LSU receiver Brandon LaFell and Appalachian State's Armanti Edwards, a college quarterback who is expected to play receiver and returner in the NFL.
The Panthers used their first pick Saturday on South Carolina linebacker Eric Norwood in the fourth round, then selected Mississippi defensive end Greg Hardy with its first of four picks in the sixth.
