HOLLY RIDGE, NC (WECT) - Hundreds of bikers from Southeastern North Carolina came together to collect toys for children who are less fortunate this holiday season.
Employees at Britt Motorsports officially kicked off their annual Toys for Tots campaign.
Sunday at the Holly Ridge Fire Department, more than 200 bikers from Wilmington and Jacksonville donated toys in order to participate in a biker parade.
The toys were placed in a large military truck and will be given to the Salvation Army.
"With the economy the way it is, there will be more kids than ever that will need somebody to help out," said Dane Britt. "So it's very good when the economy is down like this for the bike community to come together, and everybody pitches in."
Throughout the holiday season there will be boxes at all four britt motorsports locations for people to drop off toys.
