WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Months after getting stripped of a Dodge franchise along with dozens of other dealers across the country, a Wilmington car dealer is back in the new car business.
The D&E car dealership in Wilmington was dropped by Dodge when Chrysler went bankrupt in June. Since then, the dealership has only been able to sell used cars.
D&E has since pursued a franchise with the Japanese automaker Mitsubishi.
Now the Japanese models will replace the empty parking spaces once dominated by Dodge pick-ups and the dealership will go by the name D&E Mitsubishi.
D&E has been operating for over 60 years, making it one of the oldest dealerships in Wilmington.
