BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The Bladen County jail will soon be equipped with additional security and new equipment.
An inspector went to the jail a few weeks ago and advised that a medical isolation cell be added to the facility. Additionally, he recommended adding more cameras and security personnel to the staff.
"Inmates work in the kitchen assisting in the preparation of meals," said Sheriff Steve Bunn. "The inspector said it would be necessary to have a deputy in the kitchen while the trustees were working or add a surveillance cameras in the area."
The inspector is expected to return to the jail in late January or early February to see if any progress has been made.
Bladen County Commissioners agreed to spend the money to make the necessary changes.
