WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WECT) - A $10 million restoration project is in its final stages at the Shell Island Resort at Wrightsville Beach - just in time for the July 4th holiday.
The resort has undergone massive renovations for the past two years.
A large sum of the money went towards replacing every window and sliding door in the guest rooms.
The resort also added a tiki bar and a new restaurant.
Landscaping the property is the last thing on the to-do list before the project is complete.
The resort is sold out for the weekend, and the general manager said most of the visitors are from in-state.
