WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Folks from around the are will be lacing up Saturday to help one of Wilmington's biggest local charity donors.
The Landfall Foundation gave away more than $200,000 in 2008, but this year they are looking for ways to give more.
They will raise money during the 4th of July holiday with the Landfall Foundation 5K run and 2K walk.
As great as the race should be, organizers say the end result is greater.
"Just wanting to give back to the community," said Shirley Heusel. "This is a way to involve residents in Landfall and was set up so Landfall as a community could pool there money, and make a bigger difference. But there are so many families inside and outside the gate. It's a way for them to meet each other here for some fun and help teach there kids how to give."
You can register for the run or walk until 7:00 Saturday morning at the CCL Sports Center in Landfall. Registration is $30.
