WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A program at Cape Fear Community College that was once thought financially saved, may be heading to the chopping block.
In the State Senate's version of the budget money was allotted to CFCC's ship training program, but it's not included in the House's version of the budget.
If the House passes the budget, the program would be cut and five jobs would be lost.
A spokesperson for the school said the ship training program is vital to the industry, because it teaches people how to work on a boat.
The House began its session on the budget Friday night and is expected to vote twice.
