WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - National Gypsum will be closing it's Wilmington plant in January.
According to a spokesperson for the company, the drywall producing factory will being idling on January 19.
The plant is closing because of the decline in the housing market.
The 63 workers at the plant will be paid severance and shown outplacement services.
The company hopes to re-open the plant when and if the housing market improves.
