WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - About a month ago I did a commentary on Titan Cement. It is my view that as long as the company meets the permitting standards, they should be able to proceed.
And many, like Larry, agreed with me:
"I attended a civic club meeting in which Titan presented their facts. I walked away with a feeling that they would contribute more to New Hanover County than they would take away or destroy."
But others, like Doug, did not:
"Your commentary was sadly misinformed. Titan has avoided the tough questions. They backed out of public forums sponsored by the Star News, and the League of Women Voters. Instead, they appear only in tightly scripted settings where they respond only to filtered questions."
And an unnamed viewer wrote this:
"Since it is my turn, I want you to know, I totally disagree with your opinion. I have to ask, are you on Titan's payroll?"
No I'm not. I am just someone who believes the system in place is the best way at getting at the right answer.
That's your turn on the Titan issue. To comment on this segment, or anything else, email me at email@example.com.
My name is Frank. I work for a cement co. I look at Wilmington with many businesses closing, I think people should except a company such as Titan to bring wealth to Wilmington. People in Wilmington should be glad to find other employment other than minimum wage jobs.
