SAMPSON COUNTY -- Sampson County Superintendent, Dr. Stewart Hobbs, has lifted the ban of flags on clothing at Hobbton High School.
Hobbs also added that any principal at a Sampson County School has to go through the Board of Education to get a dress code rule approved.
Last week at an assembly, students at Hobbton High School in Sampson County were told that they could no longer wear an article of clothing with a flag on it, that ban included the American flag.
Last Friday, Gayle Langston said her daughter, Jessica, was told she could not wear a shirt with an American flag on it.
"Today she wanted to wear her shirt, and I had to tell her no. She didn't like it at all because I knew it would get her in trouble. Of all days, 9-11, she could not wear her American flag shirt," said parent Gayle Langston.
The ban is lifted just 24 hours after WECT broke the story about the flag ban.
