NEW HANOVER COUNTY - A locally shot movie, starring Dakota Fanning, is stirring up controversy in New Hanover and Brunswick Counties.

In the movie "Hound Dog" Dakota Fanning plays a nine-year-old girl in the South who is brutally raped.

Marc Benson, a talk shot host on Wilmington's Blue Line Radio, says he's angry because the rape scene is too graphic for viewers. He says filmmakers may have broken the law because the scenes involving a minor are too explicit.

Assistant District Attorney Connie Jordan says the law concerning sex and minors is not clear cut. She says she is now researching it to figure out whether the film falls under the statute and if filmmakers committed a crime. But so far, no one has come to the courthouse to file a complaint.
