Labor Day weekend is the end of tourist season, but hotels were worried Friday when they had only one reservation.

They tell us it picked up throughout the weekend. Restaurants and bars also stayed busy. People we talked to on the sand, from as far away as Pittsburgh, PA, say they decided to pay the price at the pump and drive down for the sun.

Not all tourist attractions in the area were very busy. The Battleship North Carolina had about half as many guests as they usually have Labor Day weekend.
