AUGUST 31, 2005 -- Governor Mike Easley says a gas shortage is looming statewide. Wednesday, the governor announced two major pipelines that service the state have been shut down.
Easley says mom and pop stations statewide are running low. He's asking motorists to conserve, and he's asking the federal government for help. He says he's been promised an answer to that, on Thursday.
