FEBRUARY 9, 2005 -- It looks like the fate of Jubilee Park is sealed. With no opponents in sight, the Carolina Beach Town Council approved a rezoning Tuesday night that clears the way for the amusement park to be dismantled.
Wilmington developer Ward Manning wants to build a 75,000 square foot retail and residential project at the location. Plans include 10 commercial and 114 residential units.
Generations of tourists and local residents have ridden Jubilee's roller coaster and whooshed down the water slide. Manning hopes to refurbish and donate the rides to other locations within Carolina Beach
