A former News 6 Scholar Athlete from Wilmington is making a name for herself, and you can expect to see her face around even more.
Kelly Higgins was one of 75,000 applicants chosen to receive the SAMMY Award. That's the Student Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year Award.
She and the 24 other winners were featured in a milk mustache ad in the newspaper USA Today. She also attended a special ceremony at Disney World where Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan and Tampa Bay quarterback Brad Johnson presented her with the award.
Each SAMMY winner also receives a $7,500 scholarship.
