COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Police officers gave ten students from Primary and Edgewood schools in Columbus County a special Christmas treat Friday.
The students spent the day with officers from the Whiteville Police Department who took them shopping at Walmart. The students were allowed to buy whatever they wanted, as long as they stayed within a $100 limit.
After the shopping spree, the officers took the students to McDonalds for lunch.
The Whiteville Police Department has been doing the Shop With a Cop program for more than 15 years.
