Ashlea Kosikowski is a news reporter and anchor at WECT. She joined the news team in October 2010.

No stranger to the area, Ashlea has lived in Wilmington since 2008 with her husband, who owns 19 Hundred Restaurant & Lounge at Lumina Station. Prior to joining the WECT team, Ashlea was the Associate Director of Media Relations at a Wilmington-based public relations agency, representing biotechnology, medical device and pharmaceutical companies. Ashlea worked with the top health and science reporters in the field to secure media coverage for clients in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and other national and local news outlets.

Before moving to Wilmington, Ashlea worked as a news reporter for four years at WSOC-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina. While there, she was voted best local news reporter by the readers of Creative Loafing Magazine. Ashlea got her start in television news at WTOV-TV, in her hometown of Steubenville, Ohio.

Ashlea is an alumna of Ohio University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the prestigious E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. During college, she worked at WOUB-TV, a PBS affiliate.

In her spare time, Ashlea enjoys boating, traveling and spending time with friends and family, including her parents who visit for beach vacations from Ohio and her in-laws who retired to Wilmington. She is a foodie, who loves trying new restaurants (her favorite is 19 Hundred!). She is also active in community events and involved with the Brigade Boys & Girls Club in Wilmington.
