WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WECT) - A local woman's quest to clean up Wrightsville Beach will now get the big screen treatment.
Danielle Richardet is a winner in the Brita FilterForGood Film Project sponsored by the Sundance Film Festival and Brita Water Filters. WECT featured her story in October and she won by a vote on Facebook. Three winners were selected out of 150 contestants.
Danielle and her family go to Wrightsville Beach twice weekly to pick up the litter.
Sundance Filmmakers have selected a director for the project -- Destin Cretton.
Danielle won a trip for two to the next Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. She'll also get a flight, hotel accommodations and tickets to the festival.
