Andre Sharpless (Source: WPD)NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A man accused of being involved in a murder in 2009 will be in court Tuesday afternoon.
According to Superior Court Docket Manager Judy Russo, Andre Sharpless will be in court for an arraignment hearing. Sources say he is expected to plead not guilty during the hearing and a judge will set a date for his trial.
Sharpless was charged with the shooting death of Tarell Jamal Philips in December 2009. Philips was shot in his home on N. 10th Street and died at the hospital.
Sharpless is facing the following charges:
- First Degree Murder
- First Degree Burglary
- Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon
- Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill
- Attempted First Degree Murder
