Month-long undercover investigation ends in two drug arrests

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Wilmington Police Department arrested two men on drug charges Thursday after a month-long undercover investigation.

Detectives with the department's Vice Unit made several controlled buys of crack cocaine.

Thursday, they searched two locations, one at 611 Queen Street and the other at Foo Daddy's on S. 8th Street.

They seized 8 ounces of crack cocaine, half an ounce of powder cocaine, and a small amount of marijuana.

44-year-old Alvin Lemond Malloy of Wilmington and 37-year-old Torrance Lamont Burns of Leland were arrested.

Malloy faces four counts of trafficking cocaine, two counts of maintaining a dwelling for drug distribution, two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of a school zone, and one count conspiracy to traffic cocaine.

Burns faces three counts of trafficking cocaine, one count of maintaining a dwelling for drug distribution, and two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine.
