PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Earlier this week, a 23-year-old woman was found shot to death on the side of N.C. 133 in Rocky Point.
Pender County Deputies located Tiffany Dawkin's car in New Hanover County Wednesday evening and are examining it for evidence.
Investigators are trying to determine if Dawkins was killed inside her car.
Dawkin's friend Jimmy Baumgardner was near the impound lot Thursday and went to her car to pay his respects. He said it is a painful reminder of a life that was cut short.
"I've been working across the street at a friend of my dad's house, and I happened to notice they had her car over here," said Baumgardner. "So I wanted to walk over look at it and just reminiscence a little bit."
Family members say Dawkins was threatened days before she was murdered.
