WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Reverend Don Skinner is the latest recipient of the Albert Schweitzer Award.

The award is given to a member of the Cape Fear Community who embodies the interests of the Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Skinner is the founder and director of the Phoenix Employment Ministry, which provides assistance to the homeless.

Skinner was inspired to start the ministry after he lost his job in 2002.  He was able to make his dream a realty with the help of several people in the community.
