WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - If you're looking for information about UNCW - there's an app for that!  Undergraduate students at UNCW have developed the university's first iPhone application.

Ricardo Valea and Phillip Whisenhunt created the free application that provides users with information about upcoming campus activities, university news and events, and view UNCW YouTube videos.

The experience of developing the UNCW Mobile application inspired the two students to start their own software development company, BoomCo, which specializes in the development and design of iPhone applications.

A graduate student is working on an iTour application designed for incoming students and visitors who are unable to attend formal campus tours.  It incorporates Google maps to pinpoint the individual's location on campus to show proximity from university buildings and other points of interest.
