WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Michael Krause, the head of the Wilmington Housing Authority, will keep his job despite a DWI charge and a blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit.
The Wilmington Housing Authority board held a closed-door meeting Tuesday afternoon, to decide the fate of the department's CEO.
Chief Executive Officer Michael Krause is facing a DWI charges after a police officer pulled him over August 20, on Eastwood Road.
The Wilmington Housing Authority board voted to keep Krause with organization, because the charges do not affect his work ethic.
"The board continues to have complete confidence in Mr. Krause's ability to lead the Wilmington Housing Authority," said Lethia Hankins, chair of the Housing Authority Board. "We look forward to having the matter resolved as quickly as possible."
Krause took the job as CEO of the Wilmington Housing Authority in September 2008. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 28.
