WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Crews with Piedmont Natural Gas have stopped a gas leak that shut down a section of South Kerr Avenue Friday morning.
According to the Wilmington Fire Department, a gas line ruptured at 1046 S. Kerr Ave.
The two-inch service line was hit by contractors working in the area.
Emergency crews closed South Kerr Avenue between Wrightsville and Wilshire avenues to traffic while repairs were made.
As of 1:30 p.m. Piedmont crews have repaired the leak and South Kerr Avenue has reopened.
