WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Take home a plant and support a group that celebrates the capabilities of those with special needs in our community.
The Ability Garden’s first plant sale of the year is Saturday, Jan. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon. The group offers garden-based programs for people with disabilities.
“Our plants are propagated by our participants at the NHC Arboretum and the money generated goes back into the program, so that we are able to offer our services free of charge," said Heather Kelejian, the program’s executive director.
The monthly plant sale occurs the third Saturday of the month through June (except in April because of the Easter holiday).
The dates are as follows: February 16, March 16, May 18 and June 15.
The plant sale is held at the Lewis Greenhouse at the New Hanover County Arboretum, 6202 Oleander Dr.
